Who we are
Goldthread Ltd ("we", "us") is a passive fire protection and remediation contractor registered in England and Wales, company number 17319979. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in this policy at enquiries@goldthreadltd.co.uk.
What information we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us, typically when you:
- send an enquiry through the form on our contact page (which opens an email from your own email account), or email us directly — giving us your name, email address, and any company name, phone number or project details you include;
- correspond with us afterwards about a survey, quotation or project.
This website does not set cookies, run analytics trackers or display advertising. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log standard technical data (such as your IP address) when your browser requests them — see Google's own privacy policy for details.
How we use it
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotations, deliver surveys and works you instruct, and keep the records a contractor is required to keep. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract; performing a contract with you; our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries; and compliance with legal obligations (for example, records supporting fire safety documentation we issue).
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your agreement.
Who we share it with
Your information is not shared with third parties except the service providers that make our business run — such as our email provider — and where disclosure is required by law or appropriate professional regulation. Project documentation that includes your contact details may form part of the fire safety evidence pack issued for your own building.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence that does not lead to work is deleted within 12 months. Where we carry out work for you, we retain project records — which may include your contact details — for as long as is needed to support the fire safety documentation issued and to meet legal and insurance obligations, typically at least six years from project completion.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@goldthreadltd.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the business or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and the current version will always be published on this page.
